Mr Bachchan Director Breaks Silence On Clash With Ram Pothineni's Double iSmart: We Are Forced To...

Director Puri Jagannadh and actor Ravi Teja were known for giving hit movies like Itlu Sravani Subramanyam and Idiot. However, rumours have been doing the rounds that tension is set to escalate between them as Ravi Teja's Mr Bachchan and Puri's directorial Double iSmart is set to clash at the Telugu box office on August 15.

In a recent interview, the director of Mr Bachchan, Harish Shankar, addressed the situation. He clarified that due to unavoidable circumstances, they are releasing the movie on the same date and not due to personal rivalry.

As per a report in Gulte, Harish said, "Puri Jagan garu is a legend and I cannot myself compare my stature with him. Due to some financial concerns, OTT issues and others, we are forced to clash with Double Ismart which actually locked August 15th as the date. Even if the clash happened, there is nothing like Puri Jagan garu and I are at loggerheads. Though Charmme garu has unfollowed me on Twitter, which I didn’t check personally but came to know it through a meme, I hope that everyone will understand the situation."

He further mentioned that it was Mythri Movie Distributor head Sasi asked him to release the movie on August 15. the movie's release date was driven by distribution logistics rather than any intention to challenge director Puri.

What else do we know about Mr Bachchan?

Apart from Ravi Teja, the movie also stars Bhagyashri Borse, and Jagapathi Babu in the lead roles. The movie is the official remake of the 2018 Hindi sleeper hit, Raid, starring Ajay Devgn. It is based on the real-life income tax raid conducted on Indian industrialist Sardar Inder Singh. The movie is being produced by T. G. Vishwa Prasad, Vivek Kuchibotla, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Abhishek Pathak, and Kumar Mangat Pathak, under People Media Factory, T Series Films, and Panorama Studios.
