Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life released in March and instantly became a hit at the box office. The movie earned positive reviews from critics and movie buffs, becoming the third highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. So far, it is the second highest-grossing Malayalam movie of 2024. The movie enjoyed a great run in the theatres and soon after it was removed, movie buffs have been eagerly waiting to make its way to OTT.
Well, there is good news for all of you as the makers have finally announced the OTT release date of Aadujeevitham.
Where and when can you watch Aadujeevitham?
The survival drama based on the real-life story of Najeeb, a Malayali immigrant labourer, is set to premiere on Netflix on July 19. The movie will be available in five regional languages – Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. The official Instagram page of Netflix dropped the poster of the movie and captioned it as “A story of courage, hope, and survival. Idhu Najeebinte athijeevana katha. #Aadujeevitham is coming to Netflix on 19 July in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi!”
What is the plot of Aadujeevitham?
The movie is based on Najeeb, a Malayali immigrant labourer, one among thousands of Indians who were forced into slavery in Saudi Arabia as goatherds on secluded farms in the deserts by the native Arabs. Apart from Prithviraj, the movie also stars Jimmy Jean-Louis and K. R. Gokul in lead roles. The film was initially banned in the GCC countries other than the UAE, subsequently, the ban was lifted in all the countries except Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. The film grossed over ₹160 crore (US$19 million) to date.
