Vedaa: Sharvari Wagh will feature in the action movie alongside John Abraham. The film will hit the big screens on August 15 with Khel Khel Mein and Stree 2.
Vedaa: Among the many movies releasing on August 15 owing to the Independence Day holiday is Vedaa. The film features Sharvari Wagh, Tamnnaah Bhatia and John Abraham in the lead roles and will hit the big screens alongside Khel Khel Mein and Stree 2. Ahead of the film's release, the Munjya fame remarked why she wants the action flick to be a hit. Vedaa will mark Sharvari's third release of the year following Munjya and her brief appearance in the OTT film Maharaj.
Sharvari Wagh recalls the tough time faced in the industry: My first film didn't do well and then I…
Sharvari Wagh made her acting debut with the series The Forgotten Army- Azadi Ke Liye (2020) directed by Kabir Khan. Her first theatrical release was Bunty Aur Babli 2 (2021) which failed to impress the audience at the box office. Years later the actress tasted success with her latest release Munjya.
Recalling the tough time, the actress shared, "I hope Vedaa becomes a huge success for us all. I'm very greedy. I want all my films to be hits. I came into this industry, my first film didn't do well and then I had to wait for 3 years because of the pandemic for my films to release and do well". She further expressed gratitude to Nikkhil Advani, the director of Vedaa, for casting her in the film despite her failed debut.
She added, “I'm hugely thankful to Nikkhil Advani sir for his faith and backing to give me such an important film and a role like Vedaa when just a couple of people were backing me in the industry is a debt I will never be able to pay back. Vedaa is a very important film for me, for my survival and my growth.”
Vedaa to release on August 15 after a hiccup with CBFC
Speaking at the trailer launch of the film on August 1, Vedaa director Nikkhil Advani said he was surprised that the film was stuck with the censor board when he had a good experience with them during the certification of his previous productions. For the unversed, the film was earlier scheduled to be released in July but was postponed due to pending CBFC clearance.
The director shared, “We were actually really surprised that nobody was having a conversation. But eventually, I just have to say that I was floored by the way they approached it when they finally saw it and understood the context in which the film had been made. The revising committee really helped us. We already have the censor certificate.”
Written by Aseem Arrora, Vedaa is produced by Zee Studios, Umesh Kr Bansal, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, John Abraham, and co-produced by Minnakshi Das.
