Visakhapatnam, India: The Indian Navy ceremoniously de-inducted the UH-3H helicopter, marking the end of an illustrious chapter in naval aviation. The de-induction ceremony, held at INS Dega in Visakhapatnam, was a tribute to the helicopter’s 17 years of distinguished service. The event was presided over by Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command, and was attended by veteran officers, sailors, and their families, who gathered to reminisce and honour the helicopter's contributions.
The UH-3H helicopter, which will be replaced by the Sea King 42C helicopter at INAS 350, was a cornerstone of the Indian Navy’s operational capabilities. Service and Operational Excellence
Inducted into the Indian Naval Air Squadron (INAS) 350, also known as 'Saaras', on March 24, 2009, at INS Dega, the UH-3H arrived in India in 2007 alongside INS Jalashwa.
